Year of Your Book: Deep Revision with Kirsten Bakis via Zoom

This a 5-week class meeting Mondays 10:15am-12:15pm starting on Monday September 14 and ending on October 26. (There will be no class on September 28 and October 12.) This class will be taught online via Zoom. New students should send ten pages to jennifer@writerscenter.org to apply. She will then send to Kirsten for review.

This advanced class is for fiction writers who have a full, or near-full, draft of a novel or book of stories, and are ready to revise. Enrollment is by application only.

A special 20th anniversary edition came out in 2017, with an introduction by Jeff VanderMeer. Bakis is the recipient of a Whiting Award, a Michener/Copernicus Society of America grant, and a Teaching/Writing Fellowship from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. She’s currently at work on a novel, is an editor-at-large for the literary journal Origins, and has been a member of the resident faculty at the Yale Summer Conference since it began. The Atlantic featured The Lives of the Monster Dogs on the occasion of its 20th Anniversary.
