ERIK SHERMAN grew up reading articles written by Phil Pepe, Dick Young and Mike Lupica, which made a big impression on him. He dabbled in broadcasting after college, working as a sportscaster for a couple of different radio stations. He is the author of three books, Mookie: Life, Baseball and the ’86 Mets, Out at Home, and Steve Blass: A Pirate for Life.
KOSTYA KENNEDY, an assistant managing editor at Sports Illustrated, writes on a wide range of subjects. He runs Sports Illustrated Presents, all special issues for SI/SI.com. He has been a staff writer at Newsday and contributed to The New York Times and The New Yorker. He edited Sports Illustrated’s best-selling The Hockey Book, published in 2010.
