White House Memories (or, The Butler Did It!)

Join us for an inside look at the preparations involved in White House entertaining with former White House butler Alan DeValerio.  Alan will share his first-hand experiences as well as  the stories from people he worked with (including Eugene Allen, the inspiration for the movie “The Butler”) who have been taking care of our First Families since the Franklin Roosevelt administration! Alan will also display White House artifacts (menus, programs, personal photos, etc. ) he has collected over the years. Following the program, Alan’s book, “A History of Entertainment in the Modern White House” will be available for purchase ($20, cash or check) and signing.
