Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 3:00 pm – “Contrasts”

General Admission – $20.00; Seniors/Students – $15.00

Our Winter Concert celebrates the contrasts that unite us all. Join us for a diverse program of intriguing and beautiful music for wind band, performed by the award-winning Westchester Symphonic Winds.

The program features Dr. Patricia Cornett, Director of Bands at Temple University, conducting a suite of works originally written for piano, including: Ghostly Note Rag by William Bolcom, Down a Country Lane by Aaron Copland, and Country Gardens by Percy Grainger. Our guest piano soloist, Joshua Pierce, will perform George Gershwin’s quintessential Rhapsody in Blue. WSW member Nathan Brewster will conduct Shooting Stars by Richard Saucedo. We will also perform these amazing works for band: A Solemn Place by Wayne Oquin, Steampunk Suite by Erika Svanhoe, and Barnum & Bailey’s Favorite by Karl King, . Come in from the cold for some warm music!
