Westchester Symphonic Winds

Curt Ebersole, Conductor/Music Director

Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 3:00 pm – “Connections”

General Admission – $20.00; Seniors/Students – $15.00; Veterans and Armed Services Personnel admitted free to this concert!

This concert celebrates all the connections we share as a vibrant community wind ensemble. We open our new season with Dr. Albert Nguyen, University of Memphis, conducting two works by Shelley Hanson — Volver a la Montaña and Seis Manuel, plus Pete Friedmann, guest narrator, collaborating on Within Our Reach by Carl Holmquist.

In addition,  guest soloist Jenn Dashnaw, clarinet, will perform Rhapsody for Clarinet, composed and conducted by WSW member Rich Dashnaw, and arranged by Barton Green. Other works include: Jubilee Overture by Philip Sparke, Fantasy on “Salve Regina,” by Patrick J. Burns, Fanfare for Brass Quintet by Grace Dashnaw, One Life Beautiful by Julie Giroux,  and joyRide by Michael Markowski.

The concert finale is an Americana Tribute, including American Patrol by F.W. Meacham, The Original Dixieland Concerto by Johnny Warrington, and Trombone Rag by John Higgins.
