Valence
Westchester county based hard rock band Valence, takes instrumental prog to new heights through their flirtations with modern metal and eclectic compositions. They’re a breath of fresh air for anyone tired of music formulated to fit into a box, and longs for an unadulterated form of sonic expression. The band won an Independent Music Award for “The Reckoning,” off of their 2014 EP, Laser Baron, the follow up to their debut Sleepwalker. Sea of Tranquility wrote, “If you love some of the acrobatic, complex, and heavy material of current acts like Scale the Summit, Between the Buried & Me, and Animals as Leaders, this is a band you need to check out.” Metal Injection included Valence in their end of 2015 list “10 MORE Awesome Underground Bands You Need In Your Life!”

Between the awards and rave reviews, the band has developed a reputation as a crushing force in the north east, tri-state and the southern New York music scenes, playing music festivals including NXNE, the official after-parties for Dream Theater, Clutch and The Sword, as well as opening for acts such as Consider the Source, Stu Hamm, Felix Martin, The Fine Constant, and Angel Vivaldi and Scale the Summit.

Bassist WilHelmus.! joined the band in Spring 2016, bringing new elements to the band’s writing and performance as they toured the North East. They recently released their single “He Tried To Kill Me With a Forklift” premiered by MetalUnderground, and had a banger of a release party at Garcia’s at the Capitol Theatre on August 18, 2017. A couple months later they released the music video, premiered by Decibel Magazine on October 27, 2017. They are currently finishing with pre-production and will be heading back into the studio in March to record their next full length album. Check out their official website for more updates! Valence is Michael Buonanno (gtr), Geoffrey Schaefer (gtr), Chris Romano (drms) and WilHelmus.! (bass).

Deadtide
Deadtide’s founding members, Phil (Chrome) and Mike (Mike Metal), met in 2006. Phil developed a YouTube following of 25k+ subscribers and a total count of over 3 million views; one of the first metal musicians on YouTube, with Mike joining a few months after. Other metal YouTubers have come and gone, but Mike, Phil, and Deadtide are in it for the long run.

The band’s debut EP album Ephemeral is about to pass over 85k plays on Youtube, and the newest EP The Great Unknown passed 20k and rising.

The band has been active since 2009. After achieving a full, permanent lineup in late 2015, Deadtide has been performing again in the NYC/NY/NJ/CT metal scene, and has opened for popular metal acts including Soilwork, Fear Factory, Doyle (The Misfits), Abnormality, Through the Eyes of the Dead, and more. Mike’s vocals have also been featured with metal-guitarmaster Marios Iliopous of Nightrage in melodeath band Dawn of Dreams’ “Forever,” mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö.

Phil (Chrome) and Mike (Mike Metal) also admin the Official Melodic Death Metal page on Facebook, with over 140k Likes, the largest Melodeath page on the Internet. They believe in the importance of spreading great metal music to the masses to keep the scene thriving and metal dreams alive, and love to give back to the Melodic Death Metal community. They understand the uphill battle of being in an independent band, getting your music heard through all the noise. In return for all your support, they want to help fellow bands and independent musicians.

Chugga
CHUGGA is a pummeling post-hardcore/rock Band based in Lower New York. Formed on by ex-Sick of It All bassist Richie Cipriano who switched to guitar to start the new project with drummer Dante Renzi, bassist Phil Gigante, and vocalist A.J. Chiarella of Shakeout from Yonkers, NY.

The band’s sound is filled with fuzzed-out riffs and a don’t-give-a-fuck attitude. The slamming choruses aren’t lightweight and the riff-heavy songs maintain a melody, sharing a sensibility with contemporaries of the day. The electrifyingly low-end, power and rage that accompany the lyrics is what makes CHUGGA stand apart from the pack.
