Virtual Author Visit with Alan Winnikoff
Local author Alan Winnikoff will read from and discuss his new novel, “Not Sleeping” (Crowsnest Books). “Not Sleeping” depicts the separation of a suburban New York couple struggling to navigate the painful process of uncoupling while continuing to manage the needs of their nine-year-old autistic daughter.
Alan, who is himself the father of two children (one of whom has autism), examines themes of family responsibility, personal reinvention, love and loss in “Not Sleeping.” Through the lens of one family, Alan puts a story to the oft-cited statistic that over 70% of special needs marriages fail.
