Unearthing Your Memoir: Throwing the Bones on the Table with Sarah Bracey White via Zoom


Please join us for this intensive class with award-winning journalist and memoirist, Sarah Bracey White, on organizing and beginning your memoir. It will be taught online via Zoom on Sunday, August 16th. As soon as you register, you will receive the Zoom link so make sure you check your email. This class is capped at 12. Sarah Bracey White has taught creative writing courses at Morgan State University, Mercy College, and the Hudson Valley Writers Center. She was a 2010/2011 Inaugural Fellow at the Purchase College Writers Center. Her literary work includes Primary Lessons: A Memoir (CavanKerry Press Ltd.), The Wanderlust: A South Carolina Folk Tale, and Feelings Brought to Surface, a poetry collection. She has just completed her second memoir, On My Own: the Making of an Untamed Woman. Sarah is a frequent contributor to and cast member of Read 650, a literary performance group. Her memoir piece, Freedom Summer, was included in the Simon and Schuster/Pocket Books’ anthology Children of the Dream and Dreaming in Color, Living in Black and White. Her essays appear in numerous anthologies as well as The New York Times, The Afro American Newspapers, and Journal News. She is the Town of Greenburgh’s Executive Director of Cultural Affairs where she also teaches writing to young adults.
