Traditional Korean Fan Dance

| |

Celebrate the Year of the Tiger in this special Lunar New Year demonstration. Buchaechum, or fan dance, is one of the most popular traditional dances in Korea, performed by a group of female dancers wearing hanbok, a traditional Korean dress. The dancers create natural shapes of flowers, butterflies, and waves using peony-colored fans. Enjoy a performance and interactive demonstration of this beautiful representation of Korean culture by the performers, Rebecca Lee and Annaleigh Potterton, of The New York Korean Performing Arts Center.
