The Sky Tonight (Planetarium)

Take an awe-inspiring tour of the night sky as seen from our area, with topics ranging from visible planets, bright stars, and the Milky Way, to periodic comets, seasonal constellations, alien planets, upcoming rocket launches, and more!

In August, learn about Vega, the brightest of the three stars of the Summer Triangle. Vega lies straight ahead of us near the Solar Apex, the direction our entire Solar System is heading. How do we know in what direction we’re headed, and in what other ways are we moving through space? Join us to find out!

What does it really mean when we say that Autumn starts in September? Turns out it’s not about the weather—it’s all about geometry. We’ll cover the Autumnal equinox and other seasonal topics, and address some common misconceptions.

Recommended for ages 8+; 60-minute live and interactive show. Advance reservations are encouraged.
