The Origins and Mythology of the Constellations: Autumn (Virtual)

There are 88 official constellations, and each constellation has a story—in some cases many stories—behind it. Our science educator Vivian Crea, a student of classical languages and mythology, will discuss the complex histories of the constellations, from the ancient and mysterious roots of the Great Bear, to the Age-of-Exploration origin of the Peacock, the Compass, and the Indian. Recommended for ages 11+; 50-minute virtual lecture plus Q&A.
