The Jauntee

Averaging over one hundred shows a year – The Jauntee has quickly made a name for themselves in the New England music scene. Hailing from Boston, they’ve solidified a dedicated following in the Northeast, playing most staple venues in the area (ie. Paradise Rock Club, Nectar’s, State Theatre, Brooklyn Bowl). Several national festival appearances (ie. Catskilll Chill, StrangeCreek, Disc Jam, Laniakea) and extensive touring down the East Coast and across the Midwest have given them Nationwide recognition, with sold out shows as far west as Denver, CO. A focus on live improvisation, set list variety, and musical exploration makes every show different from the last, truly making The Jauntee a live act to see again and again.

Drawing influence from a wide variety of bands, The Jauntee’s improvisational landscape spans multiple genres, including: Funk, Rock, Jazz, Progressive, Bluegrass, Psychedelic and Ambient music. Their willingness to explore genres, abandon all song structure, and dive into ‘the weird’ sets them apart from your average upcoming Jam Band. They aim to push the boundaries of improvisation, embrace the moment and engage the audience. With an ever-expanding song catalog and an inclination for open ended improvisation, every show promises to be a unique experience.

The never-ending love for The Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia is shown through the vast number of Dead & Garcia tribute bands. ACE takes a different approach and shares its love for Bob Weir.

In addition to playing for the Dead, Weir played in several side projects. ACE shows include lots of Dead, plus Kingfish, Bobby and the Midnites, RatDog and more.

ACE was founded by rhythm guitarist Michael Kaufman. Michael has been a Weir-devotee since the mid 1970’s and was the original rhythm guitarist and a founding member of Stella Blue’s Band. Although he owns short shorts, he’s drawn a line and has never owned a pink guitar.

Larry Siebert’s searing lead guitar shows his originality plus influences from great guitarists such as Jerry Garcia, Robbie Hoddinott (Kingfish), Bobby Cochran (Midnites) and others.

Ken Kaufman can do it all. With ACE, he’s primarily the drummer, however, sometimes he’ll play bass, and if asked, can play guitar. Highly in demand, Ken is always participating simultaneously in half a dozen musical projects.

Mark Mattson is a very versatile keyboard player and a walking encyclopedia of Grateful Dead knowledge. He often speaks at Dead-related symposia.

Osvin Yanes, full of youth and energy, is a newcomer to the Dead music scene. Listening to Phil Lesh has been an eye-opening experience. Osvin also participates in several musical projects.

ACE delivers a highly satisfying, yet different experience.

ACE is from Fairfield County, CT.
