The Healing Power of Art Reception
The Healing Power of Art, sponsored by The Fine Art Program and Collection at Montefiore Einstein and Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital at The Queen City Art Gallery, demonstrates how art can be used as a means of coping, processing, and healing during the most difficult times of our lives as well as how creativity can serve as a means to transition into a new, more meaningful phase of life.
Within the work, artist and art therapist Kat Sayegh explores her own experience of utilizing art to overcome countless injuries, surgical procedures, and the loss of her athletic identity. The show contains a select few of Sayegh’s actual MRI images, mixed media paintings, as well as digital paintings on canvas.
