The Dutch Influence on the American Kitchen and Life
Please join us to hear noted food historian and author Peter G. Rose. Ms. Rose will describe the ways food was brought to America by the Dutch more than three centuries ago and the way these foods were adapted to the new circumstances. Images of seventeenth-century Dutch art works depicting various foodstuffs are part of the lecture.
This program, which is free and open to the public, is made possible through the support of the New York Council for the Humanities’ Speakers in the Humanities program. Refreshments will be served.
