The Art of Political Murder: The 2025 Pocantico Fall Forum
The 2025 Pocantico Fall Forum will feature a screening of The Art of Political Murder, a 2020 American documentary film directed by Paul Taylor and based on the book of the same name by Francisco Goldman. The story follows a team of brave, young Guatemalan investigators who unearth a web of conspiracy and violence behind the brutal murder of Bishop Juan Gerardi, who was killed just days after presenting a report implicating Guatemala’s military in the atrocities of that country’s civil war.
After the ninety-minute screening, RBF Central America program director Arturo Aguilar—one of the investigators featured in the film—will lead a conversation with Francisco Goldman.
This event will be followed by a reception in the DR Center Gallery, now showing Shen Wei: Still/Moving.
Presented in partnership with the RBFÂ Central America program.
