The Art & Craft of Poetry Seminar & Workshop with M.P. Collins

NYU professor and poet, Michael Patrick Collins, will lead a one-day craft class (part workshop, part seminar) focusing on all elements of craft. The goal of this class will be to introduce each member to both the enjoyment of creating their own poems and the fundamental elements of poetry that go into doing so, including metaphor, imagery, line break strategies, sentence structures, tone, and the relationship between form and content. To achieve these goals, we will also discuss notable first book collections each week.
