Telling the Stories of Our Lives (Oral Storytelling) with Ivy Eisenberg via Zoom

Personal storytelling is a contemporary art form, where storytellers craft true, first-person stories and perform them live, without notes, in front of an audience. This course will teach you the art of first-person, oral storytelling. We will cover the basics of what makes a great story, you will mine your life for authentic material, and we will develop your stories into short “performance pieces” to be shared with an audience. You will receive coaching on delivery and performance of the story, including how the audience shapes the shared storytelling experience.

No prior experience of oral storytelling required. NB: This is a six week class taking place on Thursday nights from 7-9pm EST. It will be taught on Zoom. Before you sign up for any of our classes, please read our course policies page.

All sessions are highly interactive and include class materials, references, and videos.
