Teen Workshop: Fearless Flash (in person at HVWC)
In this two hour workshop, teens will learn all about flash fiction: what it is, what makes it unique, and why it’s a great form for beginners and experts alike. We will read some flash fiction in class, discuss it, and then write our own flash stories in response to the readings. By the end of the workshop, you will have 3-5 brand new story drafts and new confidence in your ability to write flash fiction. No experience necessary, just a willingness to share your thoughts and a pen to write them down.
Alyson Mosquera Dutemple’s work has appeared or is forthcoming in Colorado Review, Alaska Quarterly Review, Salamander, Passages North, Redivider, Arts & Letters, Cincinnati Review’s miCRo series, and The Writer’s Chronicle, among others.
