Taconic Opera’s 28th Season Begins: Puccini’s TURANDOT! Matinees Nov. 15 &16, Tarrytown Music Hall
Taconic Opera, celebrating its 28th year, is opening its 2025-2026 season with a production of a Giacomo Puccini’s masterpiece and final opera: TURANDOT. Maestro Jun Nakabayashi will conduct the fully-professional lead cast and orchestra. This not-to-be-missed event will take place in a venue that is totally suitable in every way for this opera: the historic, beloved and acoustically fabulous Tarrytown Music Hall!
Performed in Italian with English supertitles above the stage to further enhance the entire experience, the production will be traditionally staged with beautiful backdrops created in China, bringing this fantastical tale to life before your eyes.
Turandot is the name of a cold-hearted Chinese princess who not only refuses to wed anyone who cannot solve three riddles, but also executes them as well. Prince Calaf passes the test, but because his love for her is so strong, he offers to free her of her obligation if she can successfully guess his name by the following morning. Nessun dorma (No one sleeps), probably the most recognized and performed tenor aria in the entire opera repertoire, will have you cheering for the Prince to win.
Matinee performances will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 2:00 pm, and Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Tarrytown Music Hall, 13 Main St., Tarrytown, NY. The theater is handicap-accessible.
Tickets are ONLY available from the Tarrytown Music Hall and can be purchased online, by phone or at the door. A wide range of prices are available ($81 – $20) depending on seating, with a discount for seniors ($7) and a fixed price for students for all seats ($20).
