Taconic Opera – Spring Fundraiser Event: Concert Version of La Bohème, April 11, 2026
Welcome spring and support the arts by enjoying vocal excellence and superb piano accompaniment in a concert of Puccini’s most-often performed opera.
Taconic Opera – now in its remarkable 28th season and past recipient of the Arts Organization of the Year Award in Westchester County – will hold a Spring Fundraiser on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Presbyterian Church of Mt. Kisco, 605 Millwood Rd, Mt. Kisco, NY, at 2:00 pm. There is nothing quite like enjoying live opera in an intimate space.
Lead roles will be performed by some of Taconic Opera audience favorites. Piano accompaniment, an equally exciting part of the experience, will be provided by one of the world’s top opera accompanists, David Maiullo. Together they will deliver up classic Puccini with its mix of joy, pathos and sweeping harmonies. After the performance, stay for some refreshments and a meet-and-greet with the artists.
Set in Paris, La Bohème follows a group of young, struggling artists whose lives are full of passion, poverty, and fleeting joy. The poet Rodolfo meets and instantly falls in love with Mimì, a gentle seamstress who is gravely ill. Rodolfo’s painter friend Marcello pursues an on‑again-off‑again relationship with the flirty and mischievous Musetta. The friends share moments of exuberance and camaraderie, but the harsh realities of poverty and illness loom over them, and their bohemian dreams collapse into heartbreak.
Parking is available and the venue is handicap accessible.
