Summer Inspiration: Get unstuck! Break habits! with Suzanne Parker (via Zoom)

Let’s come together and generate ideas for new ways to work. Most people have something or things that inspire them and trigger their writing. It might be memories, ideas, observations, or an evocative image. However, over time, these sources of inspiration can lose their potency, even limit the kind of work produced and the growth that every writer desires. This generative workshop will shake things up by focusing on the expansion of our fields of inspiration. We will explore five different strategies that ask us to engage with writing in novel ways. We will create new work, and everyone will leave not only with ideas for poems but also prompts and, hopefully, expanded ways to be inspired and approach the generating of work. Note: Prose writers: if you feel you’ve been stuck in a rut, this workshop can help energize you by approaching writing from a different perspective.

NB: This class will be taught on Zoom and will be capped at 17 students. Registrants will receive the Zoom link to the email address they use to register. It will arrive immediately after registration so please check your spam folder if you do not receive it. It will also be sent the day before class as a reminder.
