The inimitable “Stevie-D,” Steve Davis came up through his mentor Jackie McLean’s group and then Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers to become one of the leading jazz trombonists of his generation.
An adept improviser and composer, he has just released Bluesthetic, his 20th album as a leader. His wife Abena will be featured on this gig, a terrific jazz vocalist who has put lyrics to some of Steve’s compositions.
