Steve Davis Sextet

The inimitable “Stevie-D,” Steve Davis came up through his mentor Jackie McLean’s group and then Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers to become one of the leading jazz trombonists of his generation. His most recent album Bluesthetic, his 20th as a leader, earned four stars from Downbeat.

Steve’s jazz vocalist wife Abena, who has put lyrics to Steve’s compositions, is featured on this gig, as is his son Tony, an exciting guitarist, composer, educator and recording artist.
