St. Thomas Orchestra spring concert
“Sunshine and Shadows” concert features musical expressions of light and darkness. White Plains-based composer William Eckfeld’s “Overture De Profundis” receives its world premiere. Mozart’s joyful “Flute Concerto in G Major” features Jan van den Berg, former principal flautist with the Holland Symphonia in Amsterdam and soloist with the Rotterdam Philharmonic. Ravel’s sweetly melancholy “Mother Goose Suite” and Brahms’ majestic “Variations on a Theme by Haydn” rounds out the program. Buffet reception to follow.
