SHP Presents: Annual War & Peace Reading featuring Pamela Hart & Frances Richey


Eight local poets and writers will read original work responding to war and resistance in current events, art, and history. Submit your original published or unpublished work to jennifer@writerscenter.org

Pamela Hart is author of the award-winning collection, Mothers over Nangarhar ,published in 2019 by Sarabande Books. She  is writer-in-residence at the Katonah Museum of Art where she manages and teaches an arts-in-education program. She was awarded a National Endowment for the Arts poetry fellowship as well as a fellowship from the SUNY Purchase College Writers Center. She is a poetry editor for the Afghan Women’s Writing Project and for As You Were: The Military Review.

Frances Richey’s first poetry collection, The Burning Point, published in March 2004, won the White Pine Press Poetry Prize and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Poems from her most recent collection, The Warrior, appeared in a two-page spread in O, The Oprah Magazine, Nicholas Kristof’s New York Times column, on the Lives page of the New York Times Magazine, and the local PBS show “New York Voices.”
