The frigate L’Hermione and the Marquis de Lafayette: from France to the American Revolution

In 1780,  the Marquis de Lafayette crossed the Atlantic on the original L’Hermione to fight in the American Revolution. Captain Yann Cariou talks about commanding the current L’Hermione, with its 84 member crew, on its transatlantic crossings.  L’Hermione is considered the most authentic replica of a tall ship ever built.  She makes regular transatlantic crossings, now serving as a symbol of French-American friendship.
