Rising Stars: Master Class for Budding Filmmakers, Grades 6-8 & 9-12

July 24 – August 28

Cost is $250, $225 for members

This class is for the motivated storyteller – students who have already made their own films, or new filmmakers that are passionate about making their first. The class will begin July 24th and will include weekly full-group, small-group, and individual coaching online through August 28th. Each student will bring their own ideas and make their own film in any genre they choose – documentary, narrative, or animation – under the guidance of New York Emmy Award-winning instructor Laura Meoli-Ferrigon. Students may use any equipment they have at home (including phones) to make their film, and instruction will be tailored to each individual students’ needs. The goal of this class is to foster community among students who have a passion for telling stories, and to provide expert instruction to help them build new skills and stay on track to complete their project by the end of the summer. All completed films will be included in our Student Film Showcase, which will be hosted online (or in person, TBD) in September.

The First Class Meeting for grades 6-8 will be July 24th from 9-10:20 am. The First Class Meeting for grades 9-12 will be July 24th from 10:30-11:50 am
Weekly individual and small-group meetings will be scheduled TBD on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, including some evenings as determined by the instructor’s and individual student’s schedules.
