Radical Revision Poetry Workshop with Martha Rhodes
No surprise for the writer, no surprise for the reader,” wrote Robert Frost of writing. With his words very much in mind during the day, we will look at participants’ poems through the lens of what i call Radical Revision. We will allow our poems to travel paths that we may never have intended them to travel so that we may explore uncharted territory in our work. I will suggest various alternate routes as it were, from the more “conventional” approach to editing to a more radical approach. We will do generative work as well and bring that work through the revision process. We will look at one poem per person, but if time allows, we will look at more poems per person. This will depend on the size of the group.
