Productivity Clinic with Peter Andrews

The session will begin by working with students to diagnose some of the problems they may be having with writing productivity and then identifying some of their strengths. It will move on to present habits that get in the way of storytelling (along with how to break them) and suggestions on practices that can set writers up for success. There will be an exercise unleashing the muse to draft a page of fiction, providing some practice in getting a story or a scene going.

In the second half of the intensive, the focus will be on rewriting. This will primarily deal with a task-based method that breaks up the work of rewriting so it’s always clear what the next steps are. There will be a revision exercise, and the session will conclude with individualized plans and commitments that will help students to put what they’ve learned into practice.
