POINT OF VIEW
Monday, March 10 thru April 30, 2025

Photographs by:

Marcy Cohen – Dennis Dilmaghani – June Greenspan – Alison Rodilosso

Point of view is a fundamental element in photography dictating how a subject appears (as seen by the
photographer) and affecting how the viewer experiences the image. As an art form, photography
facilitates exploring the interplay between subjective and objective realities, inviting us to examine
different perspectives revealing or obscuring meanings, emotions, and truths. The photographer’s
intentional use of point of view enhances the emotional and conceptual depth of the photograph while
influencing how we understand and interpret the world.
A photograph may cause you to pause, look and appreciate something in a new or different way, or to
enjoy the beauty of the natural world. That moment of recognition and enjoyment is a powerful
reminder of art’s ability to uplift and inspire us in our busy day-to-day lives.

Marcy Cohen
Marcy Cohen photographs the world to understand it –what’s unseen, under the surface.  This exhibit includes color photographs from Ms. Cohen’s photo essay, The Narrow Road to the Deep North, a trip inspired by her life long fascination with Japanese culture.  She comments, “Whether in the few words of a haiku, or the frame of the camera, the intent is to capture the essence and feeling of the scene and eloquently convey that meaning, imbued with the atmosphere of the moment.”

Dennis Dilmaghani
Dennis Dilmaghani has had a camera and tripod in hand for 50 years. He was fortunate to be a student and friend of Ansel Adams.  Dilmaghani prefers the abstract nature of Black & White – photography  without a veneer of color distracting from design, form and texture.  He photographs with a large format film camera or a contemporary digital camera combined with digital printing processes.   Mr. Dilmaghani offers 5 pairs of similar subjects in this exhibit noting, ”My  subjects may be separated by thousands of miles or by many years, yet they provide interesting contrasts.”

June Greenspan
June Greenspan is an award winning photographer who specializes in imagery that tells a story thru a painstaking process she refers to as “painting with photographs”.  She explains, “I take several photos as I try to capture the mood , colors and light of a scene.  Using photo editing software, I composite pieces of my images to re-create the scene.  I weave into the images my feelings about the many layers of activity, color and form I see.  Everything (in the print) comes only from my original photos.”

Alison Rodilosso
Alison Rodilosso started photography at a young age.  She is now Chief Photographer for the Rye Record, photographer for private clients and President of the Ground Glass.  The thread in Ms. Rodilosso’s images is an exploration of seemingly disparate images – photos taken in different places and times in color and black and white. She explains, “Grouped together as pairs, each photo set demonstrates a common theme: pinpointing an unclear subject, serenity, and burst of color.”
