Photography, History, and Fashion

|

The KMA invites you to the final lecture in our Photography, History, and Fashion series. Esteemed art historian and curator David Little will lead a thought-provoking discussion on how the iPhone, social media, and new conceptions of identity have transformed fashion photography today.

Joining him as a special guest is acclaimed photographer Quil Lemons, who creates a distinct visual language to examine “ideas around masculinity, family, queerness, race and beauty.” A contributor to Vanity Fair, The New York Times Magazine, and i-D magazine, Lemons has photographed cultural icons such as Billie Eilish, Spike Lee, and Pamela Anderson.

From glossy magazine spreads to the immediacy of Instagram, discover how technology has blurred the lines between professional and amateur, changing the visual language of fashion and image making in the 21st century.
