How to Photograph Nature in High Key Style

|

CCCW presents noted speaker and photographer Lisa Langell

High key photography is a powerful, evocative and often ethereal type of photography. It involves creating images where there is a dominance of white or bright tones. For nature photography, it is a type of photography that goes against most “traditional” styles and “”rules”” of nature photography. It requires the right circumstances – the right light, subject, and setting—in order for the magic of High Key photography to work.
You will learn:
• What lighting conditions are best (and worst) for high-key photography
• The settings that are generally recommended for creating high-key work
• What foregrounds and backgrounds work best for high key photography
• Composition tips for this style of photography
• Post-processing tips to create the final look

A lifelong birder and photographer, Lisa started her photography business in 2010 after long vibrant careers as a floral designer, educational psychologist working with children with disabilities, and an international assessment and data consultant. She has earned numerous awards and has been published in Outdoor Photographer, Arizona Highways, Ranger Rick, Images Arizona, and more. She is an Image Master for Tamron Americas, an Ambassador for Fotopro Tripods, and is a judge for ViewBug. Lisa loves creating nature photography and art that is inspired by her background in psychology and design. Lisa adores both photography and teaching photography to others. Her humility and passion for both shines through in all she does.
