“Personal Connections” by Dorette Gerspach at the Harrison Public Library

Harrison Council for the Arts presents “Personal Connections” by Dorette Gerspach on view February 2-26 at the Harrison Public Library, 2 Bruce Avenue, Harrison, NY.  Meet the Artist February 8 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.  This Exhibit includes realistic works of art in Oil, Watercolor, Pastel, and Pencil.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT:   When I create art, I try to tell a story.  I use realism as a style not because I am trying to make an exact copy, but because I enjoy vividly representing a subject.  I especially take pleasure in using detail in my work which I hope brings enjoyment to the viewer.  The use of color, light, and subject matter set the mood.

Dorette received an Associate’s Degree in Advertising from Fashion Institute of Technology and studied at St. John’s University, School of Visual Arts, Westchester Art Center and NY Botanical Garden.  Her work experience includes graphic design and drawing instructor for adults and children.  She does pet and home portraits by commission.

The exhibit may be viewed Mondays and Wednesdays 9:30am to 9:00pm; Tuesdays, Thursdays-, Saturdays 9:30am to 5:30pm and Sundays 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.  For info call the Library 914-835-0324 or see harrisonpl.org.
