PATTI LUPONE: “THE LADY WITH THE TORCH”

Her name is Patti LuPone, but, really, no last name is needed. With breathless enthusiasm people refer to her only by her first name. One fan will exclaim, “Did you see Patti as Rose in Gypsy? Brilliant!” Another will boast, “I loved Patti even before Evita.” Yet another: “As far as I’m concerned Cole Porter wrote Anything Goes for Patti!”

The Broadway, concert and cabaret star returns in all of her larger-than-life glory for a one-night-only concert of torch songs by such composers and lyricists as Arthur Schwartz, Howard Dietz, Jule Styne, Sammy Cahn, Billy Barnes, Harold Arlen, George and Ira Gershwin, and Cole Porter, sure to delight aficionados of the American songbook. You too will be able to brag: “I saw Patti at The PAC. Magical!”

Conceived and Directed by Scott Wittman. Musical Direction by Joseph Thalken. Orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick. Dialogue by Jeffrey Richman
