Panel: Clay Artists & Legacy

To celebrate our 60th anniversary we have invited past CAC artists Lala and Jim Howard, Rene Murray, and Jeff Schlanger to an intimate story-telling afternoon. As young artists at the beginning of their careers they witnessed the shaping of Clay Art Center in the late 50’s and created defining experiences that still inspire and informs their practice today. Reena Kashyap, who has been deeply involved at CAC over the last 20 years, will moderate the talk. Pauline Shaver, Executive Director of the Artist Legacy Foundation, will share materials from the Viola Frey Archives that give insight into the importance of CAC for Frey’s post-graduate development and discuss Frey’s role as co-founder of the Foundation. www.clayartcenter.org
