Paint Night: Frida Kahlo Still Lifes

Join artist Teresa Pereira for a paint night that celebrates Frida Kahlo’s lush, vibrant, and surreal still lifes, some of which inspired works in The World of Frida. Kahlo’s last painting, Viva la vida, Watermelons (1954), a study of watermelons, was a tribute to life, despite her deteriorating health. Along with Naturaleza Viva (1952), it was a source for Pereira’s prototype for this workshop, which participants will paint while sipping a traditional Mexican drink. Materials and one drink are provided. Ages 21+.

Tickets: $30; Members $25; includes one drink.

Supported by funds from the Metropolitan New York Library Council (METRO) through the American Recovery Plan Act.
