Open Classroom Performance: Flute and Electronics at the Neuberger Museum

Join the Purchase Flute Studio in an exciting concert performance of flute and electronic music. This innovative concert will feature works by Purchase College Alumna Allison Loggins-Hull from Flutronix, Kaija Saariaho, Larry Lake, Ian Clarke, Lindsey Sterling, and others.

The Purchase Flute Studio is an award winning, international class of flute students who are pursuing degrees at Purchase College. Led by Associate Professor of Flute, Dr. Tara Helen O’Connor, it is comprised of students Melissa Aleles, Teresa Diaz, Hunter Green, Jaemin Jun, Grace Law, Viktoriya Molchanova, and Stefanie Proulx.

Dr. O’Connor is Head of the Woodwinds Department and the Coordinator of Classical Music Studies at Purchase College School of the Arts, Conservatory of Music.  She is the recipient of an Avery Fisher Career Grant and a two-time Grammy nominee, and is now a Season Artist of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. A Wm. S. Haynes flute artist, Tara has appeared on A&E’s Breakfast for the Arts, Live from Lincoln Center and has recorded for Deutsche Grammophon, EMI Classics, Koch International, CMS Studio Recordings with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and Bridge Records.

Tickets to public programs are free to Purchase College students, staff, and faculty, and Neuberger Museum of Art Members. General Admission: $10.
