A.W.Duo – pianist Alyona Aksyonova and cellist James Waldo return to Downtown Music with a program which features Beethoven’s fifth and final sonata, the Sonata in D major Op. 102 No. 2 for cello and piano, alongside the fiery and brilliant Grand Tango by Argentine master Astor Piazzolla.  Ellen Moryl, founder of the Piccolo Spoleto festival in Charleston, uses three words to describe a concert by these gifted musicians: “Exciting, Ravishing, Sublime”.
