24th Annual Elaine Stamas Educational Residency with Members of the NY Philharmonic Philharmonic musicians to perform and coach HBMS student chamber ensembles
Hoff-Barthelson Music School’s 2020 Elaine Stamas Educational Residency, with members of the New York Philharmonic, will be held Monday, April 20, 2020, at the Music School, 25 School Lane, Scarsdale, New York. A concert featuring members of the Philharmonic takes place at 7:30 pm; Chamber Music Master Classes will be held from 3:30-5:45 pm.
About the Chamber Music Concert:
Join us for a rare opportunity to enjoy a concert of some of the greatest works from the chamber music repertoire performed by world-renowned musicians in an intimate setting. The concert, featuring members of the New York Philharmonic, begins at 7:30 pm. Included on the program are the melodically rich Piano Quartet No. 2, Opus 26 in A Major by Johannes Brahms, and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s epic Piano Trio in A minor, Opus 50.
About the Elaine Stamas Educational Residency and Chamber Music Master Classes:
The Educational Residency, now in its 24th year, gives HBMS students the opportunity to perform for members of the New York Philharmonic who share their comprehensive knowledge of ensemble playing with these young musicians, guiding them to a higher understanding of technique, musicianship and musical style. Four members of the Philharmonic – Yulia Ziskel, violin; Eric Huebner, piano; Eric Bartlett, cello; and Mindy Kaufman, flute, will coach student chamber music ensembles. This residency is named in honor of Elaine Stamas, a long-time supporter of the School and member of the Board of Trustees.
Additional Information, Reservations and Tickets:
Admission to the concert is $35 general admission; $30 HBMS Community Members; $20 Seniors (60+); and free of charge for HBMS students 18 years and younger. Admission to observe the Master Classes is free of charge. Seating is limited. Program and artists are subject to change.
Reservations are strongly suggested and can be made by calling 914-723-1169, by e-mail to hb@hbms.org, or online at www.hbms.org.
