Montgomery Clift’s first film, shot on location in post-war Germany, tells the deeply moving story of a young Czech boy searching for his mother amid the devastation of WWII. This Oscar-winning classic is a must-see for film lovers.

New Rochelle Plays Hollywood is a film series presented by the New Rochelle Public Library. Prior to the screening, film aficionado Les Srager will introduce the history of the film and its creative personnel with a discussion period following the screening. Our Spring 2025 series is “Film Career Beginnings” featuring now-iconic actors in their very first roles.
