So many beginner and intermediate artists struggle to paint and capture the hands when doing figure or portrait painting. This class will deconstruct the form and shape of the hands and give you clear, easy guidance on how to map out these complicated structures. We will start with pencil to get a feel for the geometric structure and planes of the hand and then move to water-based oil, tackling the challenge of different skin tones and skin textures within the hand. Throughout the course, students will have many opportunities to paint and practice their hand painting and conclude the class with a greater confidence and understanding of what they may have felt was a daunting task.
