Neighborhood Summer Nature Walk

|

Everyone knows there are wonders to be found in the wilderness, but what about right in our own backyards? Join Marc Taylor, Manager of Planetarium and Science Programs, as we stroll up to the Old Croton Aqueduct (two blocks from the Museum) and explore the plants and animals, native and introduced, that live in the lower Hudson River Valley. We’ll bring magnifiers and other tools to help us examine what we find. Back at the Museum, we’ll use the Planetarium’s specialized solar telescope to view the celestial powerhouse that makes all this life possible—the Sun.

Recommended for ages 8+. Meet in the lobby at 1pm. The activity will involve walking approximately 1 mile along unpaved surfaces, including up and down a short hill. Wear comfortable shoes. In the event of rain, the event will be canceled.
