Musical Lecture: “Nancy LaMott and the Composers who Loved Her” with Eric Jennings

Considered by many as the greatest singer of American Popular Standards of her generation, Nancy Lamott had made quite a name for herself in the cabaret world by the time she reached her 40s. When she died at the age of43 in 1995, she left behind a legacy of extraordinary music – five magnificent CDs filled with classic songs, beautifully arranged and played by her music director, Christopher Marlowe, and numerous recordings of her signature songs. Her music and those who composed and arranged it will be explored by Professor Eric Jennings in this two-part program (April 13 and April 27). Seating is on a first-come, first-served to the capacity of the 138-seat Ossie Davis Theater. A donation of $2.00 is suggested at the door.
