MUSIC FROM THE CIVIL WAR ERA TO THE PRESENT
Presented by St Paul’s Church National Historic Site, Intuition Quartet will perform music from the 1860’s to the present, co-featuring work song, gospel-inspired blues, R&B, originals and folk-rock. A light reception will follow the performance.
About Intuition Quartet
Showcasing improvised solos ranging from mellow to fearless by the flute & harmonica, Intuition Quartet performs vocals and instrumentals of originals, pop, bossa nova, light jazz and blues. Intuition members Irene Maher guitar/lead vocals; Pamela Sklar, flute; Hope Berkeley, harmonica, Joan Indig, bass/lead vocals, combine their various individual styles of Chicago Blues, rock, classical, folk, jazz and pop to produce a dynamic and inspired collaboration.
Performing as a quintet with drums, their debut recording Rendezvous (2019) co-features a diverse variety of new originals. Previously recorded and known as The Blues Mothers, individual members have won an Original Song Award from Billboard Magazine, had original music featured among the Top Ten on Women of Substance Radio, and performed with many well-known artists.
