Music Conservatory of Westchester’s Mural Unveiling Party

The Music Conservatory of Westchester invites the entire Westchester County community for an outdoor Mural Unveiling Party on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 1pm-4pm on the Conservatory’s grounds at 216 Central Avenue in White Plains! The community music school is celebrating the unveiling of the full-scale painted mural designed by local Westchester County students as part of the “Colors of Music” Student Mural Contest.  This will be a family-friendly event from 1pm-5pm with food trucks, live music, games and activities, and more!

The “Colors of Music” Student Mural Contest provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for artistic youth in Westchester County to create their vision of what the theme of “Multi-Cultural Music” means to them in a large-scale mural form.

The final mural is created in collaboration with professional mural artist Jonathan Villoch, the two winners of the contest, Mya Madison Davis, 9^th grader from Pelham High School, and Ciara Sergi, 9^th grader from White Plains High School, and finalists Emma Farley of New Rochelle, 7^th grader at Albert Leonard Middle School, and Lucy Schwartzreich of Chappaqua, 11^th grader at Horace Greely High School. An adjudication panel of art experts from Westchester County and New York City, as well as community leaders decided the winning mural artwork concepts.
