Movie Club: America’s First River
Emmy-winning journalist Bill Moyers explores the Hudson River’s 315-mile journey from the Adirondacks to New York Harbor, weaving together the region’s natural beauty, its influence on art and literature, and the industrial impact that shaped its history. Through the voices of those connected to the river, Moyers highlights efforts to restore this American Eden. Joining us is Howard Godel, President of Godel & Co. Fine Art.
Movie Club is a seasonal series with a rotating theme, each edition delving into a fresh cinematic focus. This inaugural series invites thought-provoking discussions through literary adaptations and films with ties to the Hudson Valley. For each installment, you’re encouraged (but not required) to read the book, join us for the screening, and stay for an engaging conversation led by educator Vic Messick.
