Shouldn’t writing be fun? If you want to write poems that are risky, playful, or just plain alive, this workshop is for you. While reading model poems, exploring craft techniques, and identifying your own poetic concerns, you will receive practical and enjoyable tips for invigorating your poems, present and future.

Suzanne Cleary’s Crude Angel (BkMk Press 2018) is her fourth full-length poetry collection. Beauty Mark (BkMk 2013) won the John Ciardi Prize for Poetry, the Nassar Poetry Prize, and the Paterson Award for Literary Excellence. Recipient of a Pushcart Prize and the Cecil Hemley Memorial Award of the Poetry Society of America, she has enjoyed residencies at Yaddo and MacDowell. Her poems appear in national and international journals, most recently in The Moth, as one of four finalists chosen by Nick Laird for the annual Moth Poetry Prize: https://www.irishtimes.com/culture/books/read-the-four-poems-on-the-6-000-moth-poetry-prize-shortlist-1.4495906
