Mastering Dialogue with Sandi Sonnenfeld

This one-day seminar will focus on the role dialogue plays in advancing both character development and plot both in fiction and creative nonfiction narratives. During the course of the discussion, we will cover the following topics: How dialogue can help build dramatic tension based on the “ice-berg” theory of storytelling, a review of dialogue tags and when and how to use them handling dialogue involving three or more characters, how to make sure each character has a unique voice, separate from other characters and from the authorial voice, eliminating dialogue that doesn’t serve a dual function.
