Mamaroneck Artists’ Guild 19th Annual Open Juried Small Works Show

I would like to express my gratitude for being asked to jury MAG’s 19th Annual Open Juried Small Works Show. It was wonderful to see the artwork and the varied approaches to subject matters and the use of materials.

During the jury process many works caught my attention including experimentation with materials in a uniquely expressionistic way, composition, as well as artists depicting subject matters with an enhanced technical knowledge of materials. I strived to balance my selections between technical execution along with experimental approaches to art making and progressive thinking in relation to thematic content. Of course, ranking the submitted artworks wasn’t easy and regrettably, there were artists left out, due to the limited number of works that I could select.
