Blues Hall of Fame; Marc Black presents The History of The 1950’s and 60’s Through Popular Song

Folks all across the Country have been enjoying this celebration of those memorable and colorful decades.  This two person show is a multi-media, multi-dimensional presentation of song, storytelling and laughter.  Spontaneous singing  springs up all around the room as the audience enjoys our common heritage in song and winds up feeling great about where we’ve been and… where we are.
A New York Blues Hall of Fame inductee, Marc Black will be your guide as we re-experience our history with wonderful songs as diverse as Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka -Dot Bikini and Blowin’ in the Wind; as well as tunes by artists ranging from Dean Martin to George Harrison.  In addition to the music and discussion, this popular program features a slide show that’s sure to slide you right back in time.  He will also perform my own group’s top forty hit from 1967 when we toured with the Doors, Neil Diamond, The Dave Clark Five and Van Morrison.
Love from the audience:
Marc is a terrific musician and a great story teller.  Probably the best musical history program I’ve ever seen… and a remarkable reminder of American values and resilience.  (Audience member, Tom Charles Jr, after a recent show in Princeton)
Marc Black is a cultural historian with a guitar, as smart and savvy as he is entertaining.  The audience was hooked from the second he set foot on stage.  (Artistic director, Derin Tanya, from Woodstock’s Kleinert/James Art Center).
Its like being in a rock n roll church service with everyone singing along from the sacred book of popular song.  Willy Mason, songwriter
